Why stay at Hôtel Ninon?
Hotel Ninon is an ideal address if you’re looking for charming, quiet and authentic accommodation. In our opinion, it’s one of the best hotels to stay at in Dubrovnik.
In our view, its main assets are..:
- Exceptional location: perched high above Dubrovnik, the hotel offers magnificent views of the Elaphite islands and the Adriatic Sea. We particularly appreciated this peaceful setting, away from the hustle and bustle of tourism, yet still within easy reach of Dubrovnik (30min by car).
- Lovely garden: the hotel’s garden is a veritable haven of peace.
We enjoyed relaxing in the infinity pool and taking in the lush greenery: palm trees, laurel blossoms, bougainvillea and pine trees diffuse delicious fragrances. - Intimate, family atmosphere: this establishment stands out for its warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff are attentive to your every need, the welcome is personalized and the general atmosphere gives you the feeling of being at home, the luxury version.

Is the Hotel Ninon worth it? Our review
Yes, without hesitation. Hotel Ninon is well worth a visit for those seeking an authentic and refined Dubrovnik experience. We were seduced by the friendly, gourmet atmosphere of this establishment. The off-center setting allows us to enjoy absolute peace and quiet, while benefiting from magnificent views of the sea and surrounding islands. We highly recommend this address to couples in search of romance or solo travelers looking to recharge their batteries.

Decoration and atmosphere
Hôtel Ninon is distinguished by its sober, luxurious decor, blending bohemian and Asian Zen influences. Each piece of furniture has been carefully selected during trips to Bali, lending an appreciable exotic touch. Hints of Indonesia are dotted around the establishment: a gong, wooden sculptures and an awning reminiscent of bungalows.

We appreciated the attention to detail: from the mix of handcrafted objects, to the works of art, to the personalized signature fragrance that discreetly perfumes the common areas. It all adds up to a soothing atmosphere. But what really sets this address apart from other hotels is the warm, attentive staff, who engage in genuine discussions and make you feel right at home!

The room
Of the hotel’s 9 rooms, we slept in the Christophe Colomb.
The space was pleasant and well laid out. The whitewashed walls, solid wood door and wardrobe, concrete floor and old stone headboard create a harmonious, simple and restful decor. We particularly liked the black-and-white Doisneau photograph on the main wall.

We appreciated the excellent quality of the bedding and the white carpet at the foot of the bed, which was very pleasant to wake up on. But perhaps the room’s greatest asset is the incredible view of the Adriatic Sea and the swimming pool.
The little detail that makes all the difference? The wooden keys and the delicate herbal fragrance diffused in the space, offered as a gift on your departure, to take a little of the hotel home with you!

The bathroom
The bathroom in our bedroom was open to the master bedroom. Opposite the bed was a sink with a gigantic stone basin. To the left, the toilet was separated into an enclosed space, offering appreciable privacy. To the right, a large walk-in shower in brown marble completed the layout.
We liked the shower products and the small washcloths provided.

The breakfast
We loved our breakfast at Hôtel Ninon. It was served on the shady terrace facing the sea, under an arbour of grape leaves. We appreciated the relaxed atmosphere, which invites you to take your time.

Take your time to enjoy it, because it’s really excellent and hearty. You’ll start with homemade granola, fruit salad and freshly squeezed juice. Then you can put together your own personalized menu. We opted for an omelette, a platter of local cheeses and charcuterie, a small salad with vegetables from the garden, and everything was divine. All accompanied by warm, homemade bread.

Equipment and common areas
Hôtel Ninon boasts a sublime infinity pool overlooking the sea. We loved lounging on the ultra-comfortable deckchairs set up around the pool. The beach towels are soft and huge, a real luxury.
The other thing we appreciated? A practical totebag for storing sunscreen and reading material by the water.

The garden features several landscaped areas: a sunbathing area around the pool, a shaded area facing the view further away, and a lounge under a particularly charming wisteria. Toilets are located in the immediate vicinity of the pool for added convenience.

In addition to this pleasant space, you can also enjoy an indoor lounge and massage room. The team will be happy to help you organize activities during your stay. And that’s what makes this hotel so special: its dedicated team.
As soon as we arrived, we had a nice chat with the team over a welcome drink, which really shows the care they have for their guests.

The restoration
The Hôtel Ninon restaurant is open only to residents, for lunch and dinner. The cuisine favors organic and local produce. We dined on the magnificent terrace under an arbour shaded by grape leaves.

The set menu changes daily and is made up of vegetables from the kitchen garden. During our stay, we enjoyed an excellent gazpacho as a starter, tenderloin with crisp vegetables as a main course, and a white chocolate pannacotta with oranges and kumquats picked from the garden for dessert.
Chefs in residence add an extra dimension to the culinary experience. On the day we dined, it was a Ducasse student who was officiating. We particularly appreciated the fact that the chefs came to greet the guests after the meal.

History
The project was born from the vision of Nina and Željko Katalinić, two architects with a passion for travel who wanted to share their corner of paradise in Brsečine. They created this boutique hotel using their architectural expertise to design a warm place that blends naturally into the Mediterranean landscape. Today, their daughter Katarina, a business graduate, has taken over the reins of the establishment with her husband Aleksandar, who comes from a business background. This family tradition explains the warm atmosphere that reigns here. We sensed this continuity in the attention to detail and care given to every aspect of the guest experience.
Ninon is Nina’s affectionate nickname!
