Nestled between high rocks in Dubrovnik’s Lapad district, Bellevue Beach boasts a natural setting combining sand and pebbles, and crystal-clear waters ideal for swimming. Easily accessible on foot from the city center, it offers unspoilt nature and a friendly atmosphere that holidaymakers are sure to love!
In this article, we share all our useful tips for making the most of Bellevue Beach in Dubrovnik.

This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We made our own choices, visited the area anonymously, and paid our bills in full.
Is Bellevue Beach worth it?
Yes, Clairevue beach is definitely worth a visit: easily accessible from Dubrovnik city center, it seduces visitors with its spectacular setting of rocks and sand, crystal-clear water and lively atmosphere. Younger visitors will love exploring the small grotto! For our part, we loved the soothing, unobstructed panorama.

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
Dubrovnik’s Bellevue beach features a mix of fine sand and small round pebbles. This mix provides a pleasant texture underfoot. Beware, however, of the more imposing rocks along the beachfront, which may require beach slippers for added comfort. There’s also a whole concrete section for resting.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Bathing conditions on Dubrovnik’s Bellevue beach are excellent, thanks to the crystal-clear, calm water, which gently increases in depth. Protected by high rocks and cliffs, the sea is generally calm, with very few waves.
However, as the beach is not supervised, you should remain vigilant, despite the beach cordon that secures the perimeter.

Installations
There are no toilets or showers on this beach. However, you will have easy access to the shops and restaurants in the adjacent streets for a break.
Please also note that there is no possibility of renting umbrellas and deckchairs. We therefore advise you to come at the end of the day, as natural shade is scarce and the sheltered spots on the concrete slab are crowded!

Access to Bellevue Beach in Dubrovnik
Where to find Bellevue Beach
Dubrovnik’s Bellevue beach, or Plaža Bellevue, is located in the Montovjerna district of Dubrovnik, Croatia. It’s just an 11-minute walk from the city center, nestled below the Hotel Bellevue that gives it its name. This privileged position between high rocks offers a remarkable natural setting and a unique ambience.

Access by car and parking
By car, the beach can be reached in around 5 minutes from Dubrovnik city center via a wide, tarmac road. Please note, however, that there are no parking spaces close to the beach. The nearest parking lot is Dubrovnik City Parking, a 17-minute walk away.
Access from the parking lot
From the road, access to Bellevue beach is via a staircase with a few steps. From the Hotel Rixos Premium Dubrovnik, you can take a coastal path with some steep steps.
Public transport access
We didn’t notice any bus stops near this beach. Perhaps the easiest way to get to the beach is to take a cab from downtown Dubrovnik. We don’t recommend walking to the beach, as the journey takes over 30 minutes on a busy road.
OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING YOUR CAR AT Croatia
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- Choose a car that is powerful enough (the roads are steep) but compact (some passages are narrow).
- There is a lot of demand, book it early.
