Is the Hotel Royal Neptune worth it? Our review

Yes ! We liked the location of the Hotel Royal Neptune. Just 1.5 km from Dubrovnik’s old town, it offers easy access to the city’s cultural treasures, as well as a peaceful retreat.
We appreciated the direct, private access to a lovely cove and the spectacular views over Lapad Bay and the Elaphite Islands. This panorama is visible from almost every room and common area. The comfort of the rooms, despite their simple decor, is ideal for a stay in Dubrovnik.

We also appreciated the various facilities (swimming pools, spa, gym, different restaurants), which make it possible to totally unwind. We will always remember the efficiency of the staff, even if the welcome can seem a little cold because of the crowds.

Decoration and atmosphere

The Royal Neptune Hotel in Dubrovnik boasts a luminous decor, resolutely turned towards the Adriatic Sea, favoring open spaces and spacious balconies. On the outside, the building, which stands as the tallest in Durbovnik, has a rather industrial architecture, contrasted by several statues bearing the effigy of Neptune or other mythological figures. These decorative elements are a little kitsch, but remain in keeping with the theme.

Inside, the contemporary decor remains sober, with simple furnishings and adjustable lighting. The same goes for the bedrooms, which offer a soothing atmosphere ideal for relaxing after a day’s sightseeing.

The room

We enjoyed our night in one of the classic rooms. The sober decor and functional, comfortable space let you unwind after a hard day’s sightseeing. The adjustable lighting around the bed is practical, even if the atmosphere remains a little chilly. The balcony, though unfortunately overlooking a neighboring building, is welcome to enjoy the last of the day’s light.

The bathroom in our room at the Royal Neptune Hôtel is small but functional, suitable for a short stay. We appreciated finding l’Occitane verbena toiletries.

A little history

The Royal Neptune Hotel is a new establishment located in the quiet Babin Kuk district of Dubrovnik. Unlike other historic sites, this modern hotel has no notable historical past. Its industrial architecture and Greek-inspired statues allude to the god Neptune, but the whole remains contemporary and functional.
