4. Don’t miss the island national parks <\/h2>\n\n

Some Croatian islands are designated as national parks, which restricts construction and preserves a landscape that remains largely unspoiled. They are accessible only by boat, often from a nearby port on the mainland or a larger island. Mediterranean vegetation\u2014pine trees, scrubland, and sometimes old vineyards\u2014covers most of the land, while the coastline alternates between rocky coves and small bays. There are many boat tours that allow you to explore the Croatian coastline from the sea, a perspective that completely changes how you see the cliffs and sea caves. Some caves are only accessible at certain times of day, when sunlight enters at a specific angle and casts a unique hue on the water. <\/p>\n\n

The Blue Caves<\/h3>\n\n

In several places throughout Croatia, you can explore the Blue Caves, where light streaming through an underwater opening gives the water an intense blue color. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is only one Blue Lagoon: a cove with shallow, turquoise waters, often visited in combination with the island of Drvenik Mali. 7. Enjoy the beaches<\/h2>\n\n

The Croatian coastline features a wide variety of beaches, ranging from fine pebbles to rocky outcrops and a few sandy stretches. Many of them change shape over the course of the seasons due to ocean currents, which explains why some images seen online may not always reflect the actual conditions at the time of your visit.We recommend bringing water shoes, as the pebbles and rocks can make swimming uncomfortable if you\u2019re barefoot. <\/p>\n\n

Beaches Surrounded by Nature<\/h3>\n\n

We find that visiting these sites provides a better understanding of the region\u2019s turbulent history, marked by centuries of rivalries among regional powers. <\/p>\n\n
