It offers an unobstructed view of the<strong>Island of Bra\u010d<\/strong>, and runs along the coastal promenade that links several beaches together. There are a few shady areas thanks to the tall trees, and the water is clear, which makes for a certain comfort on hot days. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the place in the early morning.   <\/p>\n\n<p>In this article, we share<strong> our tips<\/strong> and<strong> a few photos<\/strong> to help you know what to expect before enjoying a moment at the water&#8217;s edge.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/croatialovers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/playa-ovcice-plaza-split.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice beach plaza split\" class=\"wp-image-2445\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>This opinion is completely <strong>independent<\/strong>, based on our experiences. We made our own choices, visited the area anonymously, and paid our bills in full.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is Ov\u010dice Beach worth it?<\/h2>\n\n<p>Yes, Ov\u010dice Beach may be worth a short stop on a stroll along the seafront promenade. It offers a beautiful view of the Island of Bra\u010d, even if it&#8217;s not ideal for sunbathing or settling down comfortably, its ground being largely concreted or covered with pebbles. We nevertheless appreciated its rather calm atmosphere in the early morning, as well as its pleasant little beach bar. The area also benefits from natural shade under the trees. Despite some tagging and the occasional presence of seaweed, the beach remains generally clean and pleasant for a quick break.    <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-wM84cz9\/0\/LJBbHjNSnptjQG4SwGnpcmhXrCchN4GhRNWM4q34s\/L\/promenade%20beton%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - ferry view\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Type of beach<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sand or no sand?<\/h3>\n\n<p>Ov\u010dice Beach is not a sandy beach. It&#8217;s mainly made up of concrete, pebbles and rocks, which can make it a little less comfortable for sunbathing or putting down your towel. This beach is more suitable for a short break, a stroll or a quick swim.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-jDtJ2BH\/0\/NTFFnf9BtRhd2pKXsC72g9b23tvRDHs8ZS6swdPvx\/L\/vue%20iles%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - concrete promenade\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Swimming conditions and supervision<\/h3>\n\n<p>Bathing at Ov\u010dice remains decent, with a gentle slope facilitating gradual entry into the Claire water. However, the ground is made up of rocks and pebbles, so it&#8217;s advisable to wear suitable footwear for walking and swimming. There are generally few waves, which makes for a rather tranquil swim. We didn&#8217;t see any signs indicating that the beach is supervised, but our research suggests that it is in high season.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-fPkb3D8\/0\/LSxzVkG6gNpbVMhRDNDQgh4Tn9c93BnVsPkkGG8x8\/L\/galets%20bord%20mer%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - clear water\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installations<\/h3>\n\n<p>We noted the presence of showers to freshen up after swimming and cabins for changing discreetly. A beach bar offers a pleasant setting overlooking the Isle of Bra\u010d, and benches are available. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-3BQJ6Bq\/0\/MnLN62rZghXS35ntxQWr3Fn4LLxj2FHCnhQndLbNL\/L\/douche%20bord%20mer%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - shower\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Access to Ov\u010dice Beach in Split<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where&#8217;s the beach?<\/h3>\n\n<p>Ov\u010dice Beach is located east of Split city center. For reference, it is located: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>18min walk from Diocletian&#8217;s Palace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Ba\u010dvice district<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Between Pla\u017ea Ba\u010dvice and Pla\u017ea Firule<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-F9pbfQM\/0\/MLkg2S6FZs4BRXWd2fjJnLWzhZSvsw5w3RM5qJqSg\/L\/rochers%20plage%20Ovcice%20croatie-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - rocks\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Access by car and parking<\/h3>\n\n<p>The beach is easily accessible by car, either via Route Put Firula if you&#8217;re coming from the east of Split, or via Route \u0160etali\u0161te Petra Preradovi\u0107 from the city center. A large parking lot overlooks the beach at the Maestro Grill Club Split restaurant, but it fills up quickly, especially in high season. It is therefore advisable to arrive early to be sure of finding a space.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-h4SQFkQ\/0\/KwMdpRvd7pPnN4PpBGZ4tPnz8sL64VPppcQ4VK7rV\/L\/parking%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - parking\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Access from the parking lot<\/h3>\n\n<p>From the parking lot, the beach can be reached either by a concrete ramp or by a set of steps of the same type. The ground is still fairly uneven, however, so a little caution is called for on the way down. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-J9zJM8h\/0\/KbT8C39P74zK8KNK9VcLQRrxNqMxK9QB899jDhjXS\/L\/acces%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - parking access\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Public transport access<\/h3>\n\n<p>The beach is accessible by bus via line 21, stop &#8220;KINO BA\u010cVICE&#8221;. However, there are no special facilities on site for people with reduced mobility, with the exception of a few benches. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-WDfqXkp\/0\/MKWqZGXFM6TgtnSSWrHfB79zCGGm97cvj6P4K5zGK\/L\/promenade%20bord%20mer%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - concrete floor\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With children<\/h3>\n\n<p>During our low-season visit, the beach had no special facilities for children. On the other hand, the gentle slope allows gradual entry into the Claire water, making swimming easier for the little ones, but you are advised to wear swimming shoes and keep a close eye on your children. We also noted the presence of natural shade under the trees, useful for resting between two swims and protecting yourself from the sun.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-XrctPC8\/0\/KMKT2H5j4mDsgrPzRXMDH6cFNH8k4rCBjB6bBmGWK\/L\/enfants%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - children playing\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Naturism<\/h3>\n\n<p>Naturism is not permitted on the beach.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eating out<\/h3>\n\n<p>There&#8217;s also a beach bar-snack bar where you can cool off while enjoying the view of Bra\u010d Island. For a more substantial meal, the <a href=\"https:\/\/croatialovers.com\/en\/restaurant-soul-kitchen-split-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Soul Kitchen Restaurant<\/a>, just an 8min walk away, is an excellent address in Split, renowned for its local dishes and inventive cuisine. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Split\/Plages\/Ov&#x10D;ice\/i-jdsnLVz\/0\/MPTxVPgBz27ftdtcJbDVHVk2dccj4nznbTVqjHKsg\/L\/cafe%20bord%20mer%20plage%20Ovcice%20plaza%20split-L.jpg\" alt=\"ovcice split beach - Kavana Ov&#x10D;ice\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kavana Ov\u010dice<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hotels<\/h3>\n\n<p>Close to the beach, we recommend<a href=\"https:\/\/croatialovers.com\/en\/hotel-park-split-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hotel Park Split<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/croatialovers.com\/en\/briig-boutique-hotel-split-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Briig Boutique Hotel<\/a>, both just a 5-minute walk away.
