We made our own choices, visited the area anonymously, and paid our bills in full.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why visit the Lotr\u0161\u010dak Tower?<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is the Lotr\u0161\u010dak Tower worth it? Our opinion:<\/h3>\n\n<p>Yes, the Lotr\u0161\u010dak Tower is worth a visit for its <strong>medieval architecture<\/strong> and <strong>360\u00b0 panoramic view<\/strong> over Zagreb. The climb up a narrow spiral staircase makes for a somewhat physical experience, and it&#8217;s best not to be sensitive to vertigo once you reach the top, but the view is splendid! The daily <g id=\"gid_2\">cannon shot<\/g> at midday adds a traditional touch to the visit if you&#8217;re visiting at that time. Nevertheless, the <strong>sunset<\/strong> over the city is a real plus. It&#8217;s also famous for the tradition of the <strong>Gri\u010dki cannon,<\/strong> fired every day at noon since 1877, marking the hour for the locals. <\/p>\n\n<p>This tower symbolizes the historic heart of Zagreb and bears witness to its <strong>defensive past<\/strong> against invaders, notably the Tartars and Ottomans. The bell, hung in 1646, and the addition of a fourth storey in the 19th century reinforce its architectural and cultural importance. Built in the 13th century, it served as a watchtower to protect the southern gate of Gradec, Zagreb&#8217;s old town. Its massive walls bear witness to its military function, reinforced by its strategic location above the city walls. This tradition, which dates back over 140 years, sets the pace for the lives of Zagreb&#8217;s inhabitants. From this vantage point, we had a bird&#8217;s-eye view of St. Mark&#8217;s Church, with the mountain foothills to the north.
