Our opinion:<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gri\u010d Tunnel is worth a visit, if only once, for its atmosphere and history. This 350-meter pedestrian tunnel is a true <strong>sensory and emotional experience<\/strong> in a cool, lit and clean space. Its variable width makes it ideal for exhibitions and shows, particularly during the F\u00eate des Lumi\u00e8res. Accessible to all, it is ideal for visitors curious about history and unusual atmospheres.<br\/>This is one of Zagreb&#8217;s best attractions.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Zagreb\/Tunnel-Gri&#x10D;\/i-JnFcVHG\/0\/MtvvGQDXtjDnwJQD5tJNBPXHbLzKVgMWqg3D6Z9Dz\/L\/long-view-tunnel-gric-zagreb-L.jpg\" alt=\"Tunnel Gric Zagreb worth the effort\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is the Gri\u010d Tunnel famous?<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Zagreb\/Tunnel-Gri&#x10D;\/i-ZXdpmz2\/0\/KGhWG62DsVFBF2kjK4LKxpS4jLfDbH2v4kfQ5cqx4\/L\/colors-tunnel-gric-zagreb-L.jpg\" alt=\"Gric Tunnel Zagreb - famous\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gri\u010d Tunnel is famous for its historic role in the city of Zagreb. Built during the <g id=\"gid_0\">Second World War<\/g>, it served as a shelter for the leaders of the regime at the time. Later, it protected the local population during the <g id=\"gid_1\">1991-1995 war<\/g>. This dual function makes it a powerful symbol of local resilience.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its restoration and opening to the public in 2016, it has become a dynamic cultural venue. The tunnel hosts <strong>temporary exhibitions and shows<\/strong>, notably in December when it is transformed into a Christmas wonderland. However, the visit may arouse their curiosity about local history. This underground passageway, which we used to cross the city protected from the strong June sun, is a living testimony to Zagreb&#8217;s underground history. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Croatia\/Zagreb\/Tunnel-Gri&#x10D;\/i-4pZ2Jnm\/0\/KMhwg5tSbcJVqwHb4hDPbpXzKj7WKdKwvq7n3s4GZ\/L\/sitting-sides-tunnel-gric-zagreb-L.jpg\" alt=\"Gric Tunnel Zagreb - war\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A sensory and emotional experience in a unique space<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Constant freshness and dramatic lighting<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gri\u010d Tunnel offers a constant coolness that contrasts in summer with the heat of the city. This stable temperature creates an ideal atmosphere for a leisurely stroll. However, the draught between the 2 openings facing each other 350m apart can be less pleasant in winter. A length that allowed us a unique sensory and emotional experience, between footsteps, light and history.
