Decoration and atmosphere
The Fenomen Hotel seemed to us to exude a peaceful, authentic atmosphere, perfectly in tune with the natural environment in which it is set. The mountain chalets, scattered around a

Inside, the decor favors natural materials such as wood and raw fibers, combined with an uncluttered style that leaves plenty of room for light and the landscape visible from the windows. Communal areas and bedrooms enjoy a calm ambience, enhanced by impeccable cleanliness and a functional layout designed to offer maximum comfort.

This serene atmosphere and exceptional setting make this hotel one of the best choices in Plitvička Jezera for those looking for a place to stay near the Plitvice Lakes. You’ll appreciate the calm, the connection with nature and the comfort of the facilities, ideal for recharging your batteries after your excursions in the national park.

The room
Our room offered a warm, calm atmosphere, entirely turned towards the surrounding nature. It was carefully furnished, with a predominance of wood and natural materials, creating a relaxing cocoon after a day walking around the Plitvice Lakes.

The natural light coming in through the windows overlooking the forest was extremely pleasant. Depending on the time of day, the room could sometimes appear slightly dark, but this contributed to an intimate, soothing atmosphere.

However, the luminous ambience offered by the many lamps installed in the rooms made us forget the slight lack of luminosity and even created a cosy atmosphere once all the lights were switched on.

The bed was comfortable and gave us a good night’s sleep. The room layout was practical for a 2-person stay, with plenty of space to move around and feel at ease. We particularly appreciated the quietness of the chalet, which reinforced the feeling of total disconnection. From the window, the view of the trees added a real sense of retreat in the middle of nature, ideal for recharging one’s batteries.

The air-conditioning and Wi-Fi were working properly, making for a pleasant stay, whether for resting or preparing for the next day’s activities. This cosy, comfortable room fitted in perfectly with the peaceful, woodland atmosphere of the Nature Park.

The second chamber
Our chalet had a second bedroom, simpler and more modest than the main one, tucked away under the roof.

Accessible via a wooden ladder, it can accommodate at least 2 extra people, preferably children, given the slope of the roof which reduces ceiling space. We loved its attic-style (but clean and welcoming) atmosphere, which reminded us of our childhood.

The kitchen
Our chalet’s small kitchen was a real highlight, making it easy to organize our stay. It was fully equipped, with a fridge, hob and coffee machine, so we could quickly prepare a meal or breakfast before setting off to explore the Plitvice Lakes. The layout was compact but practical, designed to be functional without taking up space.

We found the kitchen clean and well-maintained, with everything we needed to be self-sufficient: pots, pans, basic crockery and utensils suitable for everyday use.

This space allowed us to manage our meals with ease, a real freedom when staying in the heart of the National Park. Especially as we noticed that there are few good restaurants within the boundaries of the National Park, and given the touristy aspect of the place, eating out every meal can represent a substantial budget. The kitchen table provided a pleasant spot to dine quietly while enjoying the lounge.

The lounge
In our deluxe suite, the living room was a space we loved! Both elegant and warm, it featured a beautiful fireplace, ideal for winter evenings chatting by the fire. We felt right at home, with its soft sofa and thick curtains. The furniture was sober and refined, with light woods and fabrics in neutral tones, creating a relaxing ambience in harmony with the forest surroundings.

The window offered a soothing view of the park’s trees, bathing the room in subdued light in the morning and revealing the play of shadows as the day progressed. This pretty lounge, with its coffee table, television and soft lamp, was an invitation to read and relax after a day in nature.

We enjoyed spending time in the lounge, sipping tea, leafing through a guide to the lakes or simply enjoying a good meal. The unobtrusive, yet meticulously-crafted decor reinforces the impression that the lounge is a true refuge, a living space designed to slow down, rejuvenate and recharge the batteries.

The bathroom
Our bathroom was well laid out, with a built-in toilet and a second separate toilet, with direct access from the bedroom for added convenience. The space was simple but functional, and perfectly suited our needs.

We appreciated the luxury Penhaligon’s toiletries provided. However, we found it a little small for a chalet that sleeps 4.

The breakfast
Breakfast is a self-service buffet. You’ll find a wide selection of sweet dishes including fruit, pastries and cakes, cereals and yoghurts.

But also savory products such as cheese, eggs, charcuterie, grilled vegetables, Croatian specialties, etc. We appreciated the variety and quality of the products. This gourmet moment is ideal before setting off to visit the Plitvice Lakes.

We also appreciated the special attention paid to gluten-free products, with a small selection of breads and cakes and a dedicated toaster.

Fenomen Plitvice’s facilities and communal areas are designed to offer a comfortable, immersive stay in the heart of an unspoilt natural environment. The chalets are linked by small paths surrounded by greenery, creating an intimate and pleasant atmosphere as soon as you leave your room. The outdoor areas are carefully landscaped, with vegetation, benches and natural terraces that invite you to relax after a day in the national park.

The hotel also features a wellness center with sauna and Jacuzzi, ideal for relaxing at the end of the day.

Outside, you’ll also find a soccer and boules pitch, table tennis tables, a children’s play area, deckchairs, a barbecue, benches and tables, as well as a street workout area.

The restoration
The Fenomen Plitvice restaurant is one of the highlights of the resort. The room, decorated in a warm, natural style, offers a convivial atmosphere that blends well with the surrounding forest setting.

The cuisine features local, seasonal produce, with a menu that mixes traditional Croatian recipes with more contemporary dishes. Portions are generous and presentation meticulous.

We appreciated the attention paid to fresh ingredients and simple yet masterful flavors, which perfectly match the spirit of the place. Service is courteous and efficient, and the restaurant team is always on hand to offer advice. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the hotel restaurant.
